This classic Jump’n’Run Game with RPG elements is quite challenging. You are in charge of little Cally. She has to fight her way through dangerous dungeons to rescue her parents, who have been kidnapped by the evil Dr. Herbert. You not only need to perform extreme jumps to overcome chasms, but you will also encounter 20 kinds of nasty monster enemies and six bosses. Initially, you are only equipped with a pistol and a sword, which can be used for defense. However, soon you have access to bigger guns. In the course of the game 16 kinds of weapons become available. The more often you use them, the stronger they get. Along the way diamonds, coins and hearts have to be collected. Hearts are also being dropped by defeated enemies and can be used to upgrade Cally’s skills. Your little heroine can be controlled through the 104 levels via three virtual buttons. Three of them make Cally jump, fire and utilize the sword, two arrow keys to let her move forward and backward.
Conclusion:
The Jump’n’Run in retro pixel optics does not feature anything that can be considered groundbreaking, but the rapidly increasing level of difficulty makes the game quite challenging, and at times even frustrating. Operating the game takes some getting used to, mainly because the arrow keys are a bit too large. Nevertheless, especially genre fans will have a lot of fun.
